Customer Spotlight: Simple Replaces Your Bank
Published on 31 May 2013
Sure you could opt to use your current bank’s mobile app, but why do that when you could replace your bank with Simple, a mobile-first banking service. Using Simple for iOS and Android, Simple customers can deposit checks, pay anyone, block their cards, reset their PINs, and chat with Customer Relations. The app even includes an ATM finder to help you find the closest ATMs (from Allpoint, the largest no-fee ATM network in the United States), and Goals, Simple’s real-time envelope style savings tool.
Simple knows that your current balance doesn’t tell the whole story, so instead the company has introduced Safe-to-Spend, which seeks to answer the question “what can I spend today without hurting myself tomorrow?” Since Simple has built saving and budgeting tools right into your account with their Goals feature, Safe-to-Spend paints an accurate picture of how much you really have available by taking into account any pending transactions, scheduled payments or money saved using Goals. When paired with intuitive mobile apps, Safe-to-Spend helps Simple’s customers spend smarter and save more while on the go.
Interested in joining? Visit Simple.com, sign up, and Simple will send you an invite within a matter of weeks. After you’ve been qualified, you’ll receive your Simple Visa debit card and can begin spending and saving more intelligently.
What really makes the Simple app stand out is its ability to personalize your transactions and make your financial data come to life. After each swipe, customers receive a push notification and can easily enter the app to attach custom hashtags and memos to transactions. Customers can even attach photos to any transaction. This could be as basic as attaching a photo of a receipt, or as personal as cataloging a picture of a great meal you just had.
Simple’s push notifications, powered by Urban Airship, can also serve as a powerful fraud protection utility. Customers who enable push notifications receive an alert whenever a purchase is made on their Simple card. This makes it easy to quickly detect fraudulent activity, and with Simple’s block card feature, you can prevent further spending with a tap of a button, and even turn your card back on once the issue is resolved.
