Summer Reading: What Airshippers Are Reading For Business and Pleasure

Summer is a great time to catch up on all that reading you wish you could be doing the rest of the year. Over the next few months, we’ll be highlighting team members from across Urban Airship, showcasing how they stay up-to-date on our rapidly changing industry and keep up role-specific professional development, as well as what they read for fun. Not everyone is going to admit their deep love of [insert embarrassing guilty pleasure here] unfortunately, but take a look — you may discover a new favorite “everyday” read!

This week we’re featuring graphic designer Kirsten Sorenson’s summer reading list.

1. Designspiration

Designspiration is the best place for me to go for creative inspiration and for when I need to go down a design rabbit hole (which is an essential part of my creative process). I love seeing all of the color, typography and illustration styles being used by designers today. Whether I’m working on a whitepaper, blog imagery or presentation graphics, it’s important for me to keep my vision and references fresh, and this site is the perfect place to do this.

2. DesignTAXI

This site shares so many cutting-edge creative campaigns across all sorts of channels … from advertising, to product design and even cute animal videos (another essential part of my creative process!).

3. Van Life Diaries

I love my van, Rosie. I’m slightly obsessed with following blogs of other van rehabbers, and the Van Life Diaries offers a great window into people’s processes in turning their vans into functional campers and how they integrate the “#vanlife” lifestyle into every aspect of their lives. I love dreaming up different ideas in my free time of how to transform my little van into a liveable space, and imagining all of the adventures I will take!

Continue to follow Summer Reading every Friday throughout the summer to learn more about how Airshippers both stay on the cutting edge and let loose.
